Aufgaben
The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the physical security functions of the Somerset West Site. Chief Security Officer is also appointed in terms of the National Key Points Act as the Chief Security Officer and is responsible for supervision of security personnel working shifts, guarding and patrolling of areas according to the Security rules and regulations, reporting and investigating security related incidents, coordinating emergencies and ensure proper alarm reaction procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision & Control: Supervision of personnel on shifts, access and egress control, guarding and patrolling of the site.
- Control over the Equipment and Resources: Effective supervision and Control over security Equipment and Resources.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Investigate and reporting on incidents to RDM & NKP.
- Key Control: Control over RDM keys for Security and emergency purposes.
- Security Vehicles: Control over vehicles i.e. inspections and checklists.
- Documentation and Document Control: Inspection of all security documentation and registers for completeness and correctness.
- Access control: Checking of employee’s and visitor’s ID, searching of employees, visitors and vehicles, escort and checking of documents for deliveries and trucks leaving the site.
- Competence & training- compliance to NKP/Legal/PSIRA requirements.
- Communications: Provide information, documentation and information to relevant stakeholders.
- Emergency Co-ordination: Effective emergency response during incidents.
Profil
- Diploma in Security Management (NQF 6) or relevant equivalent experience accredited by SITA.
- Valid Grade A Security Training (PSIRA registered).
- NKP Certificate.
- At least 5-7 years working experience in security field, of which 2-3 years must be at a supervisory level.
- At least 2-3 Years’ experience performing security functions at a registered NKP Site.
- Firearm competency is essential (Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle).
- Knowledge and experience in applying security related legislations.
- Ability to exercise a degree of judgment and ability to act quickly in an emergency.
- Demonstrate ability to manage performance of security contractor/service provider.
- Good problem solving, persuasiveness and client relationship skills.
- Good interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills.
- Good communication, planning and organizing skills.
- Code B driver’s license is essential.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime, as and when required.
