About the Team
This role will be based at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence – MILVEHCOE, Redbank. This will be a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast paced, collaborative team of professionals. You will manage a growing team of painters across two shifts, with any Team Leads reporting directly to yourself.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Production, the Production Manager – Paint, Lining & Blast, is responsible for overseeing the employees, quality and safety of the paint, lining and blast shop areas of the production facility. They will need to ensure production schedules are developed and met in full to the appropriate deadlines.
Key Responsibilities involve:
- Leading, managing and driving a continuous improvement culture across the Paint, Lining and Blast shop, ensuring an organised, tidy and well layed out facility and implementing 5S and LEAN methodologies where suitable;
- Staff management across relevant areas to ensure motivation and conducting development plans and appraisals;
- Reviewing, leading and creating relevant work procedures and instructions;
- Participate with root cause analysis and investigation of production problems. Work collaboratively with cross functional departments to identify and implement solutions; and
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement activities, improving stock control and ensuring production KPI targets are being met.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline or Armaments, Armament System Maintenance or a related technical discipline;
- Proven experience in Production or Operations Management, within the Defence Industry;
- Proven ability to devise and implement strategic development and resource planning, particularly within a launch phase of a project and also related to the management of change;
- Operational knowledge and capability of the Microsoft Office Professional suite and SharePoint; and
- Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
