Aufgaben

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintain a program for effectively monitoring and management of alien invasive plants species.
  • Provide support for the effective removal of alien invasive plant species.
  • Oversee service suppliers on site.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of a program for efficient monitoring and management of wildlife species.
  • Assist in population control of wildlife species in relation to the size of the site.
  • Ensuring the health & wellbeing of animals.
  • Assist in managing the supplement feeding schedule.
  • Maintain an up-to-date species list and population management plan for the Wellington site.
  • Prepare applications for wildlife transport/hunting permits.
  • Assist in ensuring all sites have valid permits and/or licenses for the keeping of game/wildlife.
  • Assist in ensuring hunting events are conducted in a safe and humane manner.
  • Propose a vegetation map for the site.
  • Assist in providing complete description of vegetation for the property.
  • Analyze veld condition and carrying capacity for each vegetation unit.
  • Provide an overall recommendation on veld management on each property to maintain and improve veld condition.
  • Support the SANBI CREW site seasonal surveys.
  • Ensuring that the concept of sustainability is promoted and the effectiveness of sustainable development.
  • Actively support Conservation and Community Initiatives and programmes at the sites, e.g., Renosterveld Conservancy at Wellington site.
  • Ensure 100% compliance to legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all applicable legislation within RDM.
  • Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE /Quality/ Environmental/Energy.

Profil

POST REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nature Conservation (NQF 7) or equivalent.
  • Rifle competency is advantageous.
  • A valid Code B Drivers’ License.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good planning, organisational skills and time management.
  • Proven ability to take responsibility and high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and demonstrate good judgement.
