Aufgaben

RBSL is looking for a suitably experienced Deputy Security Controller to join our team.

You will support the Security Controller in maintaining and enhancing the physical security, personnel, and project security functions. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with UK Government and corporate security standards and facilitating a secure operational environment while managing the working relationships with the sites key customers and service providers incorporating the RBSL business operations.

You will assist in maintaining governance and compliance with all HMG (MoD) standards for Physical Security and have a clear understanding of security accreditation processes (FSC, IPSA).

You must hold a valid UK Security Clearance or be able to attain it, in order to perform this role.

You will:

  • Maintain physical security systems including Access Control, Intruder Detection Systems, and CCTV.
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding of users (ID/access card creation, inductions, etc.).
  • Maintain and update Guarding Instructions and response plans.
  • Support the maintenance of the Facilities Security Certificate (FSC) and Industrial Personnel Security Assurance (IPSA) through documentation and process oversight.
  • Develop and maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with HMG and internal security standards.
  • Assist the Personnel Security Officer in conducting National Security Vetting and Aftercare.
  • Contribute to the development of IPSA processes and evidence gathering.
  • Manage and issue Confirmation of Clearances for UK and overseas assignments.
  • Develop and deliver internal security awareness materials and communications.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Security Team to reinforce messaging and compliance.
  • Leverage guidance from NPSA and IPSA to shape effective security campaigns.
  • Assemble and provide destination-specific traveller security packs.
  • Brief staff prior to overseas travel.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of HMG classified material, including check-in, transfer, destruction, and incident reporting.
  • Prepare and manage secure transport documentation and courier arrangements.
  • Assist in the development and administration of Security Aspects Letters (SALs).
  • Facilitate project-related staff security approval, briefings, and access controls.
  • Provide security advice to internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
  • Ensure secure areas are appropriately maintained, inspected, and meet compliance standards for classified and sensitive work.

Profil

You must hold a valid UK Security Clearance or be able to attain it, in order to perform this role.

  • Experience in a security-focused role within a government or regulated commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of physical security technologies and systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience with security accreditation processes (FSC, IPSA).
  • Familiarity with National Security Vetting procedures.
  • Previous involvement in project security planning and support
  • Experience within the security industry, providing security input and advice to projects, programmes and business leaders in the Government sector and commercial organisations standards, would prefer a veteran of HM Armed Forces JNCO or above (but not essential)
  • In-depth working knowledge of HMG and industry standard security policy, standards and good practice guidance and processing classified material to support the operational requirements for List X
  • Experience in conducting security compliance audits and risk assessments
  • Ability to understand the diversity of the organisational climate and reach a consensus when faced with diverse operational activities and conflicting regulations
  • Ability for calm and pragmatic decision making and the ability to work with the business and find cost effective solutions with appropriate risk mitigation
