About the Team

As a key member of the LAND 400 Ph2 team the Project Manager Operations represents the production related interest of the Brisbane based Rheinmetall entity within the international Rheinmetall network.

About the Role

The Project Manager Operations is responsible for the production elements of Boxer CRV vehicle finalisation at the MILVEHCOE.

The Project Manager Operations will collaborate with onsite and international; development, program, project, production and material teams to ensure the compliant, controlled and on schedule delivery of Boxer vehicles from MILVEHCOE to the Commonwealth of Australian (COA).

The position initially reports to the Head of Production Support.

As Project Manager Operations, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

• Manage the development and execution of Production Planning tasks and associated activities as required, to complete vehicle finalisation;
• Issue, prioritise and monitor work packages for rework & vehicle completion;
• Reporting of production status vs project, production and delivery schedules;
• Leading cross functional project & production team meetings and drive focused outcomes and activities;
• Monitor and manage all production vehicle completion project related risks;
• Coordinate and support the development of our local manufacturing capability;
• Develop and maintain high quality working relationships with the international Rheinmetall project and production teams; and
• Ensure compliance with RDA’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process) or relevant discipline;
• Previous experience in a Production / Process Engineering role (preferably Automotive);
• Excellent working knowledge and understanding of complex vehicle Production systems eg. Quality systems, assembly and testing requirements;
• Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across complex global matrix organisations;
• Natural ability to build networks across cultures and across disciplines;
• Previous project management experience;
• Natural problem solver, able to troubleshoot production problems with very high attention to detail;
• Experience utilising Root Cause Analysis tools to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence;
• Advanced MS Office Applications (Word, Excel – gantt charts, macros & pivot tables), Powerpoint, MS Project, Outlook);
• Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
